  1. When should my home be staged?

The right time to stage a house is after you speak to the real estate agent and before the house is listed on the market.

You only have one chance to make a first impression. Buyers can determine very quickly if they are comfortable in the house.. The house needs to show at its very best from the first viewing. It is important that all improvements and repairs are completed before the house is listed. For the first two weeks that your house is on the market, it attracts the most attention. This is why showcasing is so necessary.

  2. Is it not the realtor's job to advise us how to prepare the house for sale?

Most realtors will give you advice on cleaning and de-cluttering your house. With the competition in today's market whether it is a hot market (to sell for more money) or a slow one, your house should stand out. The realtor is concentrating on marketing and exposing your house for maximum attention. They don't generally have the time or the know-how required for the details of staging which will make your house the most desirable. Realtors together with a home stager work for your success to sell your house faster and for more money.

  3. I decorated my house with help of an interior decorator. Do I still have to stage it?

The way you live in your house and decorate it, is very personal. When you stage a house it has to become generic in order to appeal to as many prospective buyers as possible. It takes a very short time to walk through a house. The buyer should be able to visualize themselves living in the house. Personal decorations and collections - no matter how impressive, distract them, taking valuable time away from remembering the good feelings they had.

  4. How much does it cost to stage my home?

As studies show that a staged house sells for about 5 ½% more than a non staged house, the cost of staging will never be as high as the first price reduction. By staging your house you always win. Certified Staging Professional fees are based on the square footage you want staged. The fees vary, depending on the services you wish to have performed.

  5. Who would benefit from CSP™ services?
